Kodiak
Description
Instructor begun working on Kodiak in the first week after the release of WRP Tool. It should take him until the 17th of July 2002 to the release of the island.
Kodiak is a very rural island, sparsely populated and densely wooded. The combination of this and some smaller fjords creates a Scandinavian impression.
The four bigger villages are built with a lot of details and very spacious as the multiple barracks. There are three airfields on the island, one serves military purposes. It is the one construed for AI landing manoeuvres.
The north of island is comparable to the boreal woods of the polar circle where it is too cold for deciduous forests and conifers are growing sporadically, while dense pine forests cover the middle and the south of the island.
Close to the main island you can find 3 more bigger islands. One in the south, which you can reach over a bridge and is populated. Then one close to the south east shore with a harbour and barracks with helipads. The last one can be found in the north but it’s unpopulated.
The author put his main focus on advantages for the infantry, although armoured forces still have the upper hand on some open parts of the island.
